Anna Maria probably died in childbirth. No cause of death is given, but she was buried together with ”a small child”. ””Sadelmakaren Schultzes hustru på norra sidan. 4 klockor och uti samma grav ett litet barn”. She is not mentioned in the birth and christening records. If she died in childbirth the baby died too, unchristened. In January 1718 two children are born in Uppsala within one week by parents with family names very similar to that of Anna Maria’s, see https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0004336_00093. She herself married in 1724 and was probably about the same age as the babies' parents. Are they siblings? The birth records list 1) Christian, son of trumpeter Casper Hagelbeck and Catharina Geråtsier. Among the godparents is ”jungfru Maria Johanna Geråtzkier”. 2) Anna Elisabet, daughter of trumpeter Jacob Geratsier and Mad[ame? mademoiselle?] Maria Loding. Casper and Catharina ”Gerotze” also had a daughter, Anna, born in Uppsala 1723-09-10. Investigating these branches might perhaps give a clue to the origin of Anna Maria.Caspar Hagelbeck and Catharina Gerotskie:Trumpetare was a military rank. Trumpeters were employed in the artillery or the cavalry. There is a trumpeter called Casper Hagelbeck who figures in a novel by Lars Widding, Den siste karolinen. The character is obviously based on a real person, surely our Casper (or his father, who also was a trumpeter). In the novel, Hagelbäck freezes to death in the disastrous ”death march of the Caroleans” in 1719. Our Casper lives on.The Casper who married Catharina "Geråtsier" is still alive in 1732, when the inventory of estates after his deceased mother supplies important information about the link to the Schultz family, see https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0104690_00245 (Uppsala rådhusrätt och magistrat, Bouppteckningar, SE/ULA/11661/F II a/11 (1731-1734), bildid: C0104690_00245). Two brothers, Nils and Casper, both trumpeters, inherit their mother Anna Schobert (Anna Schoubert, a trumpeter’s widow, see the communion book for 1728-36 at https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0004212_00225). Nils (Niclas) is present at the inventory, but Casper is represented by his "swåger", brother-in-law - Jacob Ludw. Schultz! Jacobs wife Anna Maria and Casper's wife Catharina must have been sisters. The inventory after "min sahlig mama" ("my late mama") bears witness of a fairly comfortable economy. It is signed by Niclas H. and Jacob Schultz.Jacob Gerotskie and [Anna] Maria Loding:Marriage: 1716, 28 Oct, Uppsala domkyrkförsamling ”Trumpetaren Jacob Gerotschi och jungfru Anna Maria Loding”, see https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0004345_00026Anna Elisabeh (Anna Lisa) had a son, Petter, in 1750. The father is said to be vicefiskalen Åkerling. Among the witnesses is Sophia Hagelbeck - maybe the daughter of Casper H. See https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0004338_00117. In 1754-11-10 she has another extramarital child, Maria Christina. Jan Österberg is said to be the father. Witnesses: mester Jacob Ludvig Schultz, Johan Wollberg, hustru Lisa Loding, hustru Brita Österberg, see https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0004338_00154Trumpeter Jacob "Geroscki" and Anna Maja Loding are mentioned In the inventory of estates of Anna Maja's father, Erich Loding, d. 1717, see https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0104686_00415 (Uppsala rådhusrätt och magistrat, Bouppteckningar, SE/ULA/11661/F II a/7 (1716-1717), bildid: C0104686_00415). Jacob dies in November 1742, and is buried November 25, see https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0004348_00016. ”...begrofs afskeddade trompettaren Gerosie på norra sidan...utan klåckor och tecke. Fick hielp at begrafwas af Kyrckian”. Jacob must have been poor since the Church helped to pay for the simple burial. He is not menrioned in the Inventory of Estates index. There is little doubt that the four young Gerotskis mentioned in the baptism book of 1718 are related to each other - Jacob, Anna Maria,Catharina Elisabeth and Maria Johanna. Most likely they are siblings.
