- Nedanstående är hämtat från geni website och förmodligen inlagt av en Dennis Dean Roberts.https://www.geni.com/people/Jacob-Ludvig-Schultz/6000000044092967879Occupation: in the early years JL is titled remsnidare more often than sadelmakare. Later he is always called sadelmakare or Sadelmakarmästare.Residence:Before his marriage in Tolfta in Uppsala County 1724, JL apparently lived in Hudiksvall in Sweden and had acquired burghership there - see next paragraph.Although the marriage record of JL and AM was issued in the town of Uppsala, Domkyrkoförsamlingen, it also states that the marriage in fact took place in Tolfta. ”Borgaren och sadelmakaren uthi Hudvikswalds (=Hudiksvall) stad Jacob Ludvik Schultz, & jungfru Anna Maja Gerotzie. Sammanwigdes d. 8 Aprilis uthi Tolfta.” See https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0004345_00038. Tolfta is a rural parish in Uppsala County, only 5 km from the parish of Tierp, where the family stayed for some time in the 1720’s. The eldest son, however, was baptized in Uppsala Domkyrkoförsamling. Jacob Ludwig was born in August 1725.When Elisabeth is born in 1729, the family lives in Ullfors in Tierp (for information about Ullfors, see for example https://www.tierp.se/turism/gora/slott-och-vackra-bruksmiljoer/ullf...). However, they are not registered under Ullfors in the tax records (mantalslängden) for 1729. Maybe their stay in Ullfors was short. When Petter Joel is born in 1732, the family lives in the town of Uppsala. In 1733, Feb. 15, one of JL:s children (unnamed) dies, and is buried in the churchyard outside the Cathedral, on the south side. Perhaps this is Petter Joel, who at that time was 1 year old. Another child is buried in the same grave. See https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0004347_00068The inventory of estates from 1765, when JL died, lists a second daughter in his first marriage, Anna Maria Schultz. Was she born in Tierp or in Uppsala? And when? From at least 1732 JL and his family live in Uppsala stad (=domkyrkoförsamlingen), Svartbäckens rote, kvarter (district; city block) Hjorten n:o 319 (befallningsman Kjellbergs gård). See https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0004212_00182, Uppsala domkyrkoförsamlings kyrkoarkiv, Husförhörslängder, huvudserie, SE/ULA/11632/A I a/1 (1728-1736), Image ID: C0004212_00182. The earliest date of communion is 1732. Anna Maria’s mother, Elisabeth Rosencrantz, lived in the same household.Kvarter Hjorten: There is an essay from the 1970’s about the history of the neighbourhood at http://aarsbokenuppland.se/arsbocker/1970_tal/1975%20(039-102)%20Sv... - an interesting read with photos and maps. After the death of his wife in January 1743, JL eventually remarried. His second marriage probably took place in 1744. There is no record of it, but the first eight months of 1744 are unaccounted for in the church books (RA). His second wife was Christina Hedwig Östman, born in about 1713. They had three sons and one daughter: Carl Christopher b. 1746-05-01, Adolph Otto b. 1749-07-19, Hedvig b. 1752-05-31 and Vilhelm Gottfrid b. 1755-02-16. The family still lived in the Svartbäcken district, city block Hjorten, see communion book https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0004213_00085. Here is written the age of each member of the household. The accuracy seems to be less than perfect, but at least it gives us a fair estimate of JL:s birth date. His age, given as 49, compared with that of his daughter Elisabeth, born in 1732 (here:1733) and now cited as being 16 years old, makes it pretty certain that the records were written in 1749 (the start year of the volume). Thus, JL ought to have been born in about 1700. This is confirmed in the death and burial records 1765, where he is said to be 65 years old.Jacob Ludvig died on the 4th of July, 1765 in ”hetsig feber”, 65 years old, and was buried on the 10th of July at the cemetery (”södra sidan emellan kyrkohörnet och södra kyrkoportalen. 4 de mindre klockorna 12:- , det sämre bårklädet 6:-, ... graven, 3:-”). https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0004348_00190 (Uppsala domkyrkoförsamlings kyrkoarkiv, Död- och begravningsböcker, SE/ULA/11632/F/2 (1741-1776), bildid: C0004348_00190).Inventory of estates, see https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0104700_00474 (Uppsala rådhusrätt och magistrat, Bouppteckningar, SE/ULA/11661/F II a/21 (1764-1765), Image ID: C0104700_00474)
